Sonia Agarwal back to the big-screen!

As actress Sonia Agarwal and Director Selvaraghavan have approached Chennai family court in order to dissolve their marriage on mutual consent; they are living in separate dwellings. Birdies say that the actress has set-up a new office for herself in Chennai.

The latest we here from the lady’s close circle is that she is ready for her second innings. But sadly she will not be in for a Tamil film. However now, she will start-off with a bilingual film in Kannada and Telugu directed by Upendra. The film will feature Upendra himself in lead role whereas rest of the cast and crew is yet to be finalized.

Sonia will be featured as a young widow and the movie will start rolling by the month of November.

Earlier we had it that Sonia has signed up as the lead lady for a brand-new mega serial in Kalaingnar TV.

Abirami Ramanathan surprised short-film directors

Chennai Theatre Owners’ Association president Mr. Abirami Ramanadhan surprised the short-film directors with an eye-catching offer. He announced this proposal in a short-film screening event that happened in Chennai Film Chambers building, recently.

“Short-films have a capacity to improve the delight and range of Tamil cinema by passing on good moralities through them. If theatres give them room and opportunity to show their potentials a lot of changes can come along. I would like to offer a morning show every week in my complex for free of cost. Though I present my theatre for free, the short-film director might have to approach our CM to stay away from the tax issues. I will also take care of the electricity bill of the show,” he said humbly.

This is surely a good start in the path that shows the way to a better cinema in the future…


Jananathan signed agreement in Tamil

Iyarkai’ fame director Jananathan is all set to release his action entertainer ‘Peranmai’ this Diwali.

‘Peranmai’ stars Jayam Ravi in the lead with five fresh faces in main roles. The movie’s audio launch happened recently and the post-production works are going on in high speed.

The director announced that he insisted that his agreement with the production company must be in Tamil. Known for his fervor for Tamil, the director wanted to make ‘Peranmai’ the first film to have its agreement in the mother tongue. But for the fact that the production house is an international firm, the agreement was also made in English to satisfy the other party.
