Ramarajan returns with Medhai
Ramarajan, who has given some classics like Karagattakkaran, is all set to come back with a difference. Medhai, a commercial entertainer whose story takes place in a city, has an abundance of comedy, romance, sentiments and all other masala elements needed for making a grand entertainer. Though from a rural backdrop, the ‘Ramarajan effect’ will be unaltered as he has a reliable partner in Vadivelu, and they both are going to rock in Medhai!
Medhai will be directed by N.T.G. Saravanan, who had worked as an assistant to director Hari. Story, screenplay and dialogues have been written by him, and he would like to emulate his teacher Hari and produce commercial hits. The film is being produced under the banner of Kalaimagal Koodam.

After Agni Natchathiram, the Prabhu-Karthik duo will come on screen after a long time. Meanwhile, Karthik has reportedly appreciated Arun Vijay for maturing as a good actor with the right scripts.
Maanja Velu is also an action movie. 'Maanja' is the mixture of glass powder and other ingredients coated on the string of a kite. It is used to cut the strings of rival kites, but if handled wrongly, it can cut you. This forms the basic plot. Ganja Karuppu, Santhanam and others form the supporting cast. Mani Sharma has scored the music for Maanja Velu, which is expected to release soon.

Ajith-Gautham's next titled Kaaval?
Now we all know that Thala Ajith's 50th film will be directed by the stylish film-maker Gautham Menon. The film produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri is believed to be a police story. Ajith has played a cop in Anjaneya, but the film was not too successful, so we hope it’s time Ajith tastes success in a thrilling cop story.
Meanwhile, director Gautham Menon has clearly denied that the film is titled Thuppariyum Anand. In an interview, he stated, “Yes I have written a script called Thuppariyum Anand about a detective in 1920’s Madras and given it to Kamal Haasan and Aamir Khan. I’m hoping that one of them will do the film. Once and for all I would like to say that the Ajith film is untitled and is a mass entertainer. All technicians who worked with me in VTV will be a part of this new film, while I’m on the lookout for a heroine.”
Now the latest buzz is that the ace director has suggested the title Kaaval for their upcoming venture. It is also learned that the director has applied for the title to Film Chamber and once the approval comes, it will be announced officially. There are also reports that Thala is planning to invite Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and the state DIG for the launch function.
Samantha speaks out
Samantha, a commerce graduate from a Telugu-Malayalee family, is making her screen debut with Naga Chaitanya's Yemaya Chesave (Telugu version of Gautham Menon's Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa starring Simbu and Trisha).
When asked about the language barrier, the pretty lass in an interview to a leading English daily said, “We speak Tamil and English at home, so Telugu is alien to me. I had great difficulty in mugging up the dialogues, but now, I can speak a few words.”
About her upcoming Tamil venture Baana Kaathadi opposite Atharva, son of actor Murali, the excited actress says, “It’s a lovely role. I had signed this film first, but my Telugu film became my launchpad. For me, language doesn’t matter; I’m interested in meaty roles.”
When asked about the comparison with her Tamil counterpart Trisha, she chirps, “I think Trisha is extremely talented and experienced. And she’s also one of my favourite actresses. I simply followed director Gautham Menon's instructions when I did the film. I wasn’t even trying to outdo a senior like Trisha.”
