The shooting of the film Endhiran which has been in shooting for the past two years has been finished. Sun pictures is the producer of the film.
Producer Mr. Kalanithi Maran gave a big party on July 9th for the crew.In the presence of our honorable Central minister Mr. Dayanidhi Maran, Director Shankar attended the party along with Superstar Rajni , Aishwarya Rai, DOP Rathnavelu, Resul Pookutty, Editor Antony & the crew. They shared all the interesting stories related to the making of the film with Mr. Maran. It was a memorable day for all of the crew members.
Endhiran The Costliest Film in India
Tamil mega star Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer bilingual film Endhiran is being touted as the costliest film of India with a budget of Rs 150 crore.
The film, which will be released this September inTamil and Hindi (Robot), has been in the making for over two years and has been shot in exotic locations like Vienna in Austria, Machu Picchu in Peru, US and Brazil.
Rajinikanth, 60, loved by audiences for his flamboyant style onscreen, plays a double role of a scientist and robot in the film.
The movie boasts of an impressive foreign crew that has costume designer E Vogt and stunt coordinator Yuen Woo Ping.
According to industry sources, the budget of the film is double of the action entertainer ‘Blue’, which had a budget of Rs 75 crore.
The 40 per cent of the cost has been spent on the special effects in the science-fiction film, which has been directed by S Shankar and produced by Sun TV owner Kalanithi Maran.
Film’s music is by Oscar-winner A R Rahman.
Some of the other films, known for their extravagant budget include K Asif’s evergreen historical love story, Mughal-e-Azam. The film took nine years in the making and cost Rs 12 crore in 1960. Kamal Amrohi’s historical film Razia Sultan starring Hema Malini cost around Rs 23 crore in 1983 and Yash Chopra’s
action thriller Dhoom-2 is said to be made on a budget of Rs 55 crore.

It seems like South megastar Rajnikanth and Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will dominate an Indian cinema after the duo starrer movie "Endhiran – The Robot" gets released.
The movie boasts of the Oscar winner AR Rahman’s music composition, is the first full fledged sci-fi film in Tamil. The film "Endhiran – The Robot" directed by S. Shankar is based on two novels written by late Sujatha.
Does not it sound good! Once again, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the legendary south actor Rajnikanth will dominate the south film industry offering a fascinating action-packed science-fiction film in Tamil language to their fans.
However, the film was expected to be released on September 3. According to the latest buzz, the film has been postponed to September 24.

Endhiran whose audio release has happened last month is gearing up for release as its post production work are going on in full swing . Trade sources have indicated that Sun Pictures magnum opus Endhiran is gearing up for a September 24 opening worldwide.

Earlier, the trade was talking about Sep 10, as it is a fantastic weekend with two public holidays Ramzan and Vinayaka Chathurthi.

Kalanidhi Maran, producer of the upcoming big budget Tamil movie Endhiran has realized the worth of the star power of his movie and hence, decided not to sell the dubbed Telugu version for less than Rs 30 crores.

As per the sources, the Rajinikanth starrer Sivaji producer and distributor Bellamkonda Suresh has quoted around Rs 20 crores to get the Telugu dubbing rights of Endhiran. Two other leading Telugu film producers have reportedly quoted Rs 23 crores and Rs 26 crores respectively. The final decision is likely to come out in next few days.
Endhiran has made a giant leap after the audio launch and the songs are topping the charts. The movie is now in the post production stage.
